   What I did at Astroworld
First position was Park Services Supervisor. I had come from Fiesta Texas and was hired by Linda/Keith&George for park services. Enjoyed working with some really good people who worked to keep the park clean. Janitorial, custodial, park sweepers, washdown, parking lot sweep truck and catering support at the barn. I applied and was hired into Purchasing by Anthony & Chris to operate the Parts Room. Order and inventory most park supplies and ride parks. Got to know more people at the parts window than I had while working in the Park. There was a job posting for an electrical lighting position which had full time benefits. I applied but had to take the City of Houston Electrical Maintenance test to obtain my license. I truly loved working with the Maintenance folks. Great bunch of specialist who gave their "all" to keep the Park running. One person comes to mind, Glen Jones, whose loss was a terrible blow to all who knew him. One Sept 15, 1998, Premier had another round of "cuts" to save money and I was terminated.

What I want to share with you.
I have never worked with so many dedicated professional people in my life. "The show goes on" is a standing tradition of Six Flags and each park is always ready to open their gates for the guests to come in. Behind the scene activities is bunch of busy bees all flying in different directions, but with the same goal, to keep the rides and attractions operating for our guests. The camaraderie of Park personnel was truly great. Everyone supported each other every day. I truly will miss all the people I worked with at Astroworld and feel very privileged to have known them. I say goodby to Mac, Tommy, Anthony, Linda, George, Jerry, Carlos, Charlie, Marty, David, Kent, Guy, Jimmy, Grant, Don, Brent, Steve, Barbara and to all the ladies and gentlemen in Operations, Maintenance, Security, Food Service, Retail and Marketing. Good Luck and Best Wishes. Bob Burch, San Antonio, Texas
