i knew this day might come....there's nothing we can do. I'll just say away from the astroworld area for some time to get over the fact that the TEXAS CYCLONE is next on the 'to do' list.

Will someone please take pics.

They are pictures of the Viper Tunnel Supports, XLR8 Stairs and a peice of track that was behind the roundhouse after an incident not made public that happened in 2004 to the track and brakes

I'll just ask one more time if anyone knows about a sign "Gasoline alley" in the 50's section, believed to by in front of chat n chew. If you know something about it or have pics could you post them here. Keep looking at www.oldastroworld.com for more pics.

Can you tell us what it was that happened in 2004? Was it on Viper or XLR8? Inquiring minds want to know!!

The 610 Limited Steam Engine was sold to someone in California.  I believe for $70,000 (dont quote me on that).  The GE and Elizabeth went to Six Flags Over Georgia.  The "old" steam Engine that was sold for scrap in 1987 is sitting in the railyard at the Durango and Silverton Railroad fully restored.

The XLR-8 incident was two trains colliding.  The maintenance guys left the over ride key in and the operators were running the inspection check.  The collided at the trim brakes.  I think this is the accident being referred to.
