So PKD Fan, uhhh......what exactly was it that you LIKED about the previous management?
Was it the fact that they virutally destroyed the financial balance sheets for the entire company?
Perhaps it was all those fancy new coasters they opened in parks that really didn't need them as much as [blank] park over here, and then didn't staff them properly so they could run at full capacity?
Could it be that they closed AstroWorld just so YOU could get one of their coasters at a park near you? (If that's the case, perhaps you shouldn't be posting here.)
Maybe it was the fact that they lied about how many "favorable" bids they had from other companies who they claimed to be interested in buying the corporation out?
Any others I'm missing?
Guess what pal: they are not after enthusiasts' money and interest. They are after the family dollar, which in the long run is where they will get the most revenue. Revenue is what they need to get Six Flags back into decent competition with the rest of the amusement world.
This new management that you claim to dislike just inherited an amount of debt close to 2.2 BILLION (B-I-L-L-I-O-N) dollars. The last thing they are interested in doing is making that grow even more because no matter how cunning you are in accounting and economics, that is a steep figure to swim thru when it comes to just paying down.
Now, you can either be happy that these people, who have no manageable skills or had the least amount of interest in the roller coaster biz up until summer of last year, gladly took it upon themselves to uproot the management responsible for making the company's stock unit prices cheaper than the cost of a souvenir Coke in one of their parks, fully knowing they would be taking on a debt that would make Bill Gates weep. Obviously, no one else was. So that is their first order of business: chiseling away at that 2.2 billion dollar red hole that each park under their wing is suffering from somehow; some parks, more than others (hello, AstroWorld.)
Get used to it, or stick to Paramount's Kings Dominion.
