If I remember correctly (31 years ago) The Gasoline Alley Sign came from the old Spin Out which was later the Antique Taxis once they closed Le Taxi and moved the cars over to the Spin Out and renamed it.
Also as of 2 days ago the cables were drooping from the Astroway. The towers were still up. The place looks really erie with the Fright Fest Ghosts still waving in the wind across the front of the park.

The ghosts standing watch all through the demolition seems kind of appropriate, don't you think?

Viper was indeed the blue roller coaster. It was the same shade of blue as Excalibur used to be.

Thought some of you might like to re-visit things at a happier time. Back in October, I was able to put this album together of the park intact, both during operation and during the day when the park was closed (but full of people inspecting rides for possible purchase). Also, sadly, look for Texas Cyclone to be no longer very soon. Looks like it has less than a week left. Cables are already hooked to the structure- it will simply be pulled down by a few trucks. No way for a monumental ride like this to die- a ride that put Astroworld on the map, and put life back into the Six Flags brand back in the '70s. Sad how it was forgotten in this day of Millennium Forces and Kingda Kas.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy these photos.

Question about the River of No Return ride. Why was a called "River of No Return" when, in fact, it returned 100% of the time?
