Is there a reason deconstruction has not begun on any of the "major" roller coasters?  My guess is they have to get the small stuff out of the way in order to make room to dismantle the big stuff, but I'm no expert.  Anyone know better?

Probably because the coasters are all being sold or scrapped.

In the conference call for Q3 SFI has already mentioned that just 4 parks are getting coasters for 06 & they are the new coasters we've known about for at least a couple of months now, what's worse is that these parks have already gotten at least two coasters since the 2002 season while others have gotten none so the SFAW coasters would've helped at other locations.

Really sad that SFI doesn't care about the park & chose to sell it,not to mention the 100's of jobs that were lost in the process but it's just the latest in a long line of terribly stupid decisions made by SF since 1999.

Space to move is one logical reason.  But I would expect with it being this late in the year, any coasters going to another park would be dismantled and stored thru the season next year since prep work for construction would need to be done, and that getting coasters of those magnitudes would constitute a major press release, which all parks have had by now.

Day 22 Nov 21, 2005

Look up in the sky, it's a bird, no it's a plane, no -- it is the big freaking crane at Dungeon Drop.

All of the control panel have been removed from drop. The tower is coming down.
