what ever happen the astroworlds entrance globe? why was it removed? it was there from 1972 - 1993 it was there for 22 years. i thought it was always somthing to see when entering the park.

There were also colored globes on all the street lights over the bridge that looked like 1 of the 4 striped globes at the top of this page. There was water blasting the bottom of that large globe so it looked like it was floating on a geyser. I bet it was a cost thing. Cheaper to remove it than to maintain it. Like most of the landscaping. In the early years the park was kept emaculate. I always laughed when the lawn mowers would start up at 1 am all over the park.
