What I did at Astroworld

I was a supervisor for a Mechanical Armadillo that was located in Western Junction where the old Gold Mine used to be it was called the "Triller Diller". Gerry Evans who was a maintanence supervisor owned the Armadillo. It was $2.00 to ride and get a picture taken. Chris the old bayou buzzard character was next to us. The object was to let the people think that they were the best riders around. We would give them about a two minute ride and then buck them off onto the air mattress below. It was great on concert nights because we were close enough to listen to the music and see all of the pretty girls walking by.

What I want to share with you.

The best times were with Beth and Lorie at the Cow Palace. Beth never knew it but I had the biggest crush on her! We used to have ice and water fights throughout the Western Junction area. The grand opening for Waterworld with the employees party was the best time that I had at Astroworld. The crew at the "Thriller Diller" has stayed in touch after all theese years and still talk about the fun we had with all of the different girls in each area of the park. It was great and I am sad to see Astroworld closed down but now I am in Real Estate and work around the area selling Townhomes so I understand the corporate way of thinking.
