What I did at
Astroworld |
I started as an Engineer on the SF Railroad before FrightFest 1996. In the Spring of 1997, I was promoted to a newly created position, that of Ride Operations Safety Supervisor. Our job was to train new Hosts/Hostesses in "Safety 101" - an expansion of what was taught in basic orientation. We also conducted safety checks at ride locations to ensure that our H/H were complying with established SFAW Safety Operating policies and prcedures. In addition, I still found time to fill in on the Railroad to keep my certification current. In the Spring of 1998, I was promoted to full time (year round) status as the Staffing Supervisor in Human Resources. My job was to see that we had enough people to adequately staff the park, and to advise the hiring supervisor when to hire more employees, and for what departments, etc. I was also heavily involved in the implementation of the nre "Employee Assistance Center" that was located in the old Toyota Building. This was a short lived project of Six Flags "Team Texas" involving all three Texas parks - SFAW, SFFT, and SFoT. I left the company shortly after the Premier buy out. |
