What I did at
Astroworld |
1st job - worked in the warehouse. This was a great job! We unloaded trucks when new supplies were delivered and stored in the warehouse. We also delivered supplies to all areas of the park. When you worked in the warehouse you had the run of the park. No area was off limits. We delivered supplies to all the restaurants, stuffed animals, games, toys etc...
Also worked on the fireworks crew. We had a blast. Our job involved picking up the fireworks for the show every morning and bringing it to the park. We spent the rest of the day wiring fireworks displays with fuses and squibs. Junctions boxes were placed in the lagoons and cables were wired to each display. At the back of the park we had a reinforced trailer packed with sand from which we would shoot the 3" - 6" shells each night. The show was beautiful. Each night at approx. 9pm in the main lagoon the show would start. |
What I want to
share with you. |
I worked at Astroworld from 86' to 89'. Some of my best memories were working in the warehouse. We were in charge of delivering supplies to food service and attractions. I later moved to Operations and worked on the Fireworks team. As I think back now over 20 years later a smile comes to my face. The pay was minimal but who cares it was a great time. |
